What it is
AEON is Hexagon Robotics' industrial humanoid, launched in June 2025 and built on Hexagon's measurement and spatial-intelligence heritage. It stands 165 cm, weighs 60 kg and has 34 degrees of freedom, with a 2.4 m/s top speed and 15 kg short-term / 8 kg constant payload. A unique self-swap battery mechanism changes packs in about one minute and gives five hours of autonomous work per charge. AEON is aimed at manipulation, asset inspection and reality capture in automotive, manufacturing, warehousing and logistics sites. Its locomotion combines legs with powered wheels: Hexagon demonstrates an on-wheels mode, and BMW notes that the wheels make AEON faster and cut energy use while it also handles stairs.
